Start/Finish and Transition Location:

Bolt  (250m Swim / 10km Bike / 2km Run)

  • Junior 16 to 19 years - suitable for all junior and junior elite athletes 16 -19 years

  • Junior 12 to 15 years

  • Novice - suitable for all beginner and novice athletes 12 years and older

Sprint  (750m Swim / 20km Bike / 5km Run)

  • Junior 14 to 19 years

Duathlon (Short)  (2km Run / 20km Bike / 5km Run)

  • Note: - race distances have been adjusted from standard short distance duathlons for race logistics purposes, hence the last run leg is longer.

Standard Distance  (1500m Swim / 40km Bike / 10km Run)

Open Water Swim  (750m or 1500m Swim only option)

Course Summary:

  • Swim - 2 x lap of 750m (1 x 750m lap for Sprint, 1 x 250m short lap for Novice & Junior Bolt)

  • Bike - 3 x lap  (3/4 and 1 x Full lap for Sprint/Duathlon, 3/4 x lap for Bolt)

  • Run - 2 x lap  (1 x 5km lap for Sprint, 2km and 5km lap for Duathlon, 1 x 2km lap for Bolt)

  • Open Water Swim 750m - 1 x lap of 750m

  • Open Water Swim 1500m - 2 x lap of 750m

Pre race day registration bag collection (numbers, timing chip, swim cap, vouchers) will now be available at the XTR Multisports store (Royce Court, 1/210 Winton Road, Joondalup)  on:

  • Friday 30th October from 11am - 5pm

  • Saturday 31st October 2020 from 11am - 3pm

  • Sunday 01st November 2020 from 5:00am to 6:40am on race day at the race transition area Tom Simpson Park, Mullaloo Beach. 

Please ensure you have registered and collected your swim cap, timing chip band.  We strongly suggest to ensure race pack collection the day before the race to ensure you have plenty of time on race morning. 

Please note:

  • Photo ID or Registration Confirmation is required (a friend can collect on your behalf with a copy of your registration email)

  • We strongly suggest that all race packs are collected prior to the event at one of the times and locations shown above

Bike Check In:

Bike check-in and racking will be on race day prior to race start between 5:00am to 6:45am.   Be sure to get to the race in good time to register and rack your bike in time.  We strongly advise to pick up your registration pack on Friday 30th or Saturday 31st October to ensure sufficient time.  Note - only after you have completed registration will you be able to rack your bike in transition.
 

Bag Drop:

 A bag drop will be available near the XTR Multisports registration gazebo.  Small bag tags are attached to your bib race number, please secure them to you bag if you intend to use the bag drop area.   Please note that bag drop is self managed but you will need to show your race number to event staff when picking up your bag.
 

Race Day Transition Access:

Transition access on race day will be open from 5:00am on race day and will close at 6:45am sharp.  Please ensure that before entering transition you will require your timing chip on (your left ankle) race number, bike identification number and helmet to gain entry to transition.  Helmets should be placed on your head and buckled up for a visual safety inspection.

Note - for 2020 no body markings will be applied so it is important to have your timing chip on at all times until after the event and race number during the bike and run leg. 

Waves Start Times (updated 20 October 2020 but are subject to change):

** Please note that for 2020 and aligned to our Covid-19 event strategy the times below represent the approximate start time for the age groups.  Athletes will be started in groups of x6 every 8 seconds.

Please take note of the following:

  • There will be no start briefing on the beach, athletes are to ensure they make their way to the beach 5-10minutes before your start wave.

  • An event briefing will be via a web link provided to all athletes prior to race day.

  • Athletes are to self-seed according to their swim ability

  • If your wave is not due to start keep off the starting area on the beach until such time as your race and start wave is due to start.

 

Bolt

  1.  6:45am - Junior Males 12 to 19 yrs 

  2.  6:46am - Junior Female 12 to 19 yrs 

  3.  6:48am - Male 20 to 70+ yrs 

  4.  6:49am - Female 20 to 70+ yrs 

  5.  6:50am – Mates Wave

Sprint

  1.  7:00am – Male Open

  2.  7:01am – Male 14 to 70+ yrs 

  3.  7:03am – Female / All

  4.  7:04am – Mates Wave

Duathlon

  1.  7:00am – All (for initial 2km Run Leg)

Standard

  1.   7:05am – Male Open

  2.   7:06am – Male 16 to 39 yrs 

  3.   7:07am – Female 16 to 70+ yrs and Teams

  4.   7:08am – Male 40+ yrs 

Swim

  1.  7:09am – All (750m and 1500m)

Race briefing:

To align to our Covid-19 event strategy for the 2020 event there will be no Race briefing at the starting area on the beach. 

An event briefing will be via a web link provided to all athletes prior to race day and it is your responsibility to familiarise with the relevant points of the briefing and the course maps and information.

Presentations:

For 2020 rolling presentations will take place for each race distance at approximately the following times:

  • Bolt - 8am

  • Sprint - 9am

  • Duathlon Race - 9am

  • Open Water Swim - 9am

  • Standard Race - 10:30am

The presentations will start earlier if ahead of schedule. 

Please would athletes and spectators practice social distancing guidelines post race and during presentations.

Prizes:
All finishers will receive a finishers medal (Note - medal format varies between race distances).  In addition Trophies or place medals will be awarded to:

  • Junior Bolt - 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Place Medals) male and female 

  • Novice Bolt (+19-80yrs Age Group) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Place Medals) male and female 

  • Sprint Race - 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Place Medals) male and female  

  • Duathlon Race - 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Place Medals) male and female 

  • Standard Race - Senior Age Group - 1st (Trophy), 2nd and 3rd male (Place Medals) male and female 

  • Standard Race - Open Category - 1st (Trophy & $200), 2nd (Medal & $150), 3rd (Medal & $100), 4th ($75), 5th ($50) male and female 

  • Standard Race - Junior (16-19yrs) - 1st male and female (Trophy), 2nd and 3rd male and female (Place Medal)

  • Standard Race - Team Challenge - 1st place team (Medal - for each team member)

  • Open Water Swim- 1st male and female (in both 750m and 1500m distance) -  also seperate Swim finisher medal

Note:  All lucky draw prizes on the day are only valid if your race number is drawn and you are personally present to receive the award at the prize giving on race day.  Lucky draw prizes for entrants not present at the race day prize giving will be invalid and their will be a re-draw for that prize.

Lucky draw prizes will be presented at all race distance presentations.
